Privacy Policy
Written by a human, in plain language. The short version: this site collects almost nothing about you, and never sells anything about you.
I dislike privacy policies written to confuse you, so here is one written to be read. This is a small, independent site run by one guide. I am not in the business of collecting, profiling, or selling anyone's data, and this page explains exactly what happens, and mostly does not happen, when you visit.
Last updated: June 2026.
The short version
I use anonymised Google Analytics to count visits. I do not ask for, store, or sell your personal data. There is no newsletter and no email sign-up. The only cookies are the analytics ones. Some links are Viator affiliate links that earn me a commission at no extra cost to you. The site is hosted on Vercel. That's it, the detail follows.
Analytics, Google Analytics 4
I use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand basic, aggregate things: how many people visit, which pages are useful, roughly which country and device they came from. This helps me decide what to write next and what to fix. I have enabled IP anonymisation (anonymize_ip), so your full IP address is not stored. I cannot see who you are as an individual, and I do not try to. GA4 is governed by Google's own privacy terms. If you would rather not be counted at all, you can use Google's opt-out browser add-on or your browser's tracking protection, the site works exactly the same either way.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are the ones Google Analytics uses to tell a returning visit from a new one. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels from ad networks, and no third-party marketing trackers. I do not run ads. If you block cookies in your browser, nothing on the site breaks.
No personal data collection, no email capture
I want to be especially clear here, because it is unusual: this site does not collect personal data. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join, no pop-up asking for your email, no lead form feeding a mailing list. I am not building a database of visitors. The only time I ever hold any information about you is if you choose to email me directly, see below.
If you email me
If you write to me (for example, to flag a correction via the contact page), I receive your email address and whatever you put in the message, simply because that is how email works. I use that information for one thing only: to read your message and, where I can, to reply. I do not add you to any list, I do not pass your details to anyone, and I do not use them for marketing. As noted on the contact page, I read every message but cannot reply to all of them.
Affiliate links
Many of the tour links on this site are Viator affiliate links. If you click one and book a tour, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, the price you pay is the same as if you had found the listing yourself. This is how the site stays free. When you follow one of these links, you leave my site and land on Viator, where their own privacy policy and terms govern your booking and any data you provide. I never see your payment details. As I say throughout the site, the commission does not change which tours I recommend.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard server request information (such as the page requested and approximate location derived from the connection) to deliver the site and keep it secure. This is ordinary infrastructure logging, not something I use to identify or track you, and it is governed by Vercel's own privacy terms.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, I will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Given how little this site collects, I do not expect big changes, but if I ever added something that touched your data, this is where it would be written, in the same plain language. Questions about anything on this page? The contact page tells you how to reach me.
Rama earns a commission when readers book through the Viator links on this site, at no extra cost to the traveller. This does not affect which tours are recommended, every tour passes three checks: guide quality, safety record, and value. Rama does not run a tour company. He does not sell packages.
